its not like metamorphosis...

someone asked me over lunch today (actually, yesterday now.. at time of posting) out of the blue, whether or not there was a difference in the way i live my life since i've come to know Christ.

without thinking my immediate response was "yes, of course" and i proceeded to give him several examples of the things that have 'changed'... of how i live differently now, of how i see people differently now, of how i treat people differently now, etc etc etc.

but upon further thinking i guess i've come to question myself. th
ese changes, growths that i now claim are true and apparent in my life... are they apparent to others? the ones that don't yet know Christ?

how am i really living.

For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- 2 corinthians 5:14-21

it's not like metamorphosis where there's a gradual change from larval stage to adult maturity, but rather, one is immediately made new in Christ. this is grace- that we're able to shed our old skin and become one that is brand new, with life and hope and true unsurpassing love. however, the metamorphosis... the learning curve, the growth pains, that comes now. so make it count viv, make it count.

you are the light of the world. a city on a hill cannot be hidden (!)
-matthew 5:14

such Words.
