raise your head

Love is passing by.

nature has always had a special effect on my heart.
these past few days, these were the burning bushes.

the crashing waves that dull to a quiet roar,
the clustering of all the clouds in the sky to one spot, behind which the sun's rays shone through,
the stars and the moon and the rooftop,
the squirrel striking a pose on the fence top,
the changing colours throughout the campus.

and i would have missed it all, if i hadn't looked up.

it's so easy to become fixated on the things that clutter our paths, to be submerged in the busyness of our schedules, of meetings, of gatherings, to be overwhelmed and directionless and confused. but above all, he is good.

'the heavens are telling of the glory of God;
and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
day to day pours forth speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
there is no speech, nor are there words;
their voice is not heard.
their line has gone out through all the earth,
and their utterances to the end of the world.'
